My reaction to today’s ruling? Morality cannot be legislated. Fellow Christians, you must realize that creating more laws to shape a morality does not work. If anything, laws point to just how sinful and in need of a savior we are.
Marriage, as defined by a government, is and should be entirely about rights. Whether you agree with same-sex marriage or not, equal rights are equal rights. Same-sex couples are not going to go away because you deny them rights, so stop trying.
I join in celebrating with my fellow Americans in this victory. Not for gay rights but for equal rights. Equal rights impact everyone, not just same-sex couples.
I will leave you with this… Don’t let your morality be shaped by laws. Laws will always fail you, Jesus will not.
